Luc Paiement is Executive Advisor to the President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Bank of Canada. As Strategic Advisor, Mr. Paiement continues to actively contribute to the Bank’s success and development through his considerable experience.
Mr. Paiement joined Lévesque Beaubien in 1981 as an Investment Advisor and following the acquisition of Lévesque Beaubien in 1988 by National Bank of Canada, he has held several positions including Vice-President and Branch Manager; Senior Vice-President, Individual Investor Services; Executive Vice President, Corporate and Investment Banking; Executive Vice President Equity Capital Markets; President, Individual Investor Services; and Co-President and Co-Chief Executive Officer of National Bank Financial Inc. During the last 10 years, as Executive Vice President, he was head of the Wealth Management division of National Bank of Canada and as such, member of the Office of the President.
He has 35 years’ experience in the investment industry and is recognized for his strong interpersonal skills and his ability to focus on culture of customer service excellence. Mr. Paiement has been a key contributor to a series of transactions that have profoundly changed the organization.
Currently, he is on the Board of Directors of the Fondation Jean Lapointe and previously over the years, has been very active in raising funds for Festin de Babette, Fondation Docteur Maurice-Betrand, Moisson Montréal; Opération Enfant Soleil and UnitedWay/Centraide.
Mr. Paiement holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University in Montreal. He serves on the Board of Directors of AfrAsia Bank Limited and that of AfrAsia Capital Management. Also, he is a member of IIROC’s Human Resources & Pension Committee.
