Registration and Enforcement
Elsa Renzella oversees IIROC’s Enforcement operations, with responsibility for ensuring IIROC’s enforcement activities across the country are conducted fairly and consistently. Elsa joined IIROC’s predecessor organization, the Investment Dealers Association (IDA), in 2002 as Enforcement Counsel and later assumed the role of Director, Enforcement Litigation. In 2013, she became Vice-President, Enforcement. Elsa was promoted to Senior Vice President, Registration and Enforcement, in January 2018. She oversees all Registration functions at IIROC, working with teams in all of IIROC’s offices who are responsible for the application process of IIROC-regulated investment dealers and their registered/approved individual staff. Elsa has extensive litigation experience, including work in private practice with a criminal defence law firm before starting her career in regulation. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from York University and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School.
